*The following media advisory was distributed in support of an event hosted by my friend Taylor M. Parker, recipient of Born This Way Foundation’s Channel Kindness Award. The media pitch received coverage from Indy-based stations WTHR and FOX59.*

Lady Gaga’s Born This Way Foundation has selected IUPUI student Taylor M. Parker as their Indianapolis Channel Kindness Award winner. Taylor, a student of philanthropy at the university, was selected based on her commitment to improving her community through kindness and for her idea to host a clothing swap and menstrual product drive, organized by and benefiting IUPUI students.

The Channel Kindness Awards, a collaboration with Peace First, are a part of Born This Way Foundation’s programming around Lady Gaga’s Joanne World Tour which includes in venue activations, youth-led events, and community gatherings.

WHO: Born This Way Foundation, Peace First, and IUPUI LGBTQ+ Student Alliance

WHAT: Clothing Swap and Menstrual Product Drive

WHEN: Monday, Nov. 6, 2017 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

WHERE: UC 115 815 W. Michigan St., Indianapolis, IN 46202

In addition to providing community-building space, this event will be an opportunity discuss the inaccessibility of menstrual products on IUPUI’s campus.
